“The Foodservice Centre team is an excellent and reliable partner for the Global Foodservice team of Shell. FSC understands the different developments in Food and Coffee across the globe, drives innovation with local Shell markets and with the Global team and is capable of driving business performance to deliver double digit growth numbers. All in all, FSC understands Foodservice and knows how to work together in a strong partnership.”
“FSC provided marketing & organisational strategic support for our Shell Lubricants rewards & recognition program hosted in Kuala Lumpur, effectively managing both internal & external agencies & stakeholders. The event was well organised and laid groundwork for cooperative working on future events.”
“FSC are always helpful, available, nice and flexible. When I’ve needed their help, they’ve always helped me immediately.”
“FSC’s support in the RFI process, packaging design, supply contract prep, costings, final range; and much more; was extremely helpful. The tasks they completed would have been much more difficult to complete on a local level; and I believe with the launch of these new products, we have positioned the Canadian market for future growth in the private label space.”
Blue Sky Thinking

Over 30 years in the food business we have experienced many curve balls, but our calm, proactive approach allows us to find the best way through. We are confident in exploring the potential in the seemingly impossible but have the wisdom to be really sure we can deliver before commitment.

Quick Thinking

We work within an incredibly fast paced industry, that demands increased efficiency to meet ever increasing customer expectations. Within such a world, quick responses are a necessity, not a nice-to-have. Efficient problem solving is essential, and possible through our wealth of knowledge in this sector. We have a team of customer care and supply chain professionals ready to react quickly to day to day issues. Working closely with our distributors we ensure successful deliveries, day in, day out.

Deep Thinking

We see our clients as partners and want to understand as much as possible about their business. Well-researched is well understood. We believe success comes from that understanding, resulting in effective, robust and fool-proof solutions.

Understanding the 2, 3 or 5 year strategic plan means we can align the goals for the food offer with the brand. Rome wasn’t built in a day and developing this long term vision allows the consumers, the stores, the organisation and the supply chain to develop together, crossing one bridge to the future at a time.

Thinking Outside The Box

As creative problem solvers, these are the types of challenges we relish: Packaging innovation to make products more environmentally friendly and increase on-shelf stand out.

Finding solutions to preserve a made-in-store look, whist ensuring consistency, reducing labour and waste costs.

Changing the way we deliver food, such as the National Trust salad kits delivering a freshly made product, whilst reducing food waste and increasing consistency.

Mapping the customer’s journey and identifying gains in presentation and communication.

Clear Thinking

We measure our success by your success. Transparency in everything we do is essential to achieving these goals. We will regularly share with you any element that may impact your business, from inflation, to movements in the market. Our costings are open and constantly reviewed, to ensure everyone maintains profitability.

Global Thinking

We like to take a world view. We have experience in operating and delivering in over 35 countries worldwide, so we understand and appreciate different cultures expectations.

Good Thinking

Sustainability is a core value for us, and we have made significant steps towards our pledge to meet the UN Race to Zero challenge. We would welcome the opportunity to use this experience to help you measure, reduce and report your own Scope 1, 2 and 3 Carbon Footprint.

Critical Thinking

Since our baseline year 2019, we have managed to reduce our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 50%, despite doubling our office space, and can now happily state that we are Net Zero. This has been achieved by partnering with Gold Standard to ethically invest in long-term sustainable energy projects. Our mission is to continue to reduce our emissions, while ethically offsetting any residuals.

Forward Thinking

In today’s VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world, we need to permanently have one eye on the future. We have kept ourselves and our customers moving ahead of the changes for over 3 decades. We are leaders in sustainability: We have created a carbon footprint for every product in our range. With Brexit we moved our raw material supply on-shore to mitigate risk and our supply chain contacts are built for resilience against volatile pricing.

Shared Success

The FSC philosophy, combined with dedicated and committed teamwork, has resulted in the creation of many wonderful success stories across a diverse range of projects. Here’s just a sample of some of our achievements.

Here’s a sample of some of our achievements: FSC’s Forecourt Food-to-Go program has been effectively implemented in over 20 countries across the world. The secret of our success is profitable, sustainable, high quality and scalable solutions.

FSC has over 30 years experience working in countries across the globe, delivering a range of services including best-in-class food-to-go operations, store design, training and implementation for the forecourt market.

From the first initial blueprints to post implementation, we offer expert advice and support to ensure the operation is safe, sustainable and scaleable. We balance sales opportunity against waste investment to ensure a profitable and high quality food offer. Recently we had the opportunity to work with a client in the Caribbean, to improve their operational efficiency. The project kicked off with in-market analysis, looking at the food-to-go and hot drinks categories to benchmark ourselves against the competition; with a keen focus on a competitive price point to meet the customer brief.

Once we understood what was available in the market, we drew upon our extensive global experience to produce an in depth product brief, ensuring the suppliers were capable of delivering a great product, which was fit for purpose. Throughout the process we worked closely with all the stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of food safety were met, and where possible, certified. The final step was “training the trainers” in food safety and operational excellence to ensure the consumer received an amazing product in a food-safe environment. Post implementation, we continue to support the client with waste reviews and ongoing operational coaching.

+34% YOY sales growth delivered by launching a new food range and overcoming distribution challenges

With the introduction of Natasha’s Law, we were approached by our customer, who needed a solution to ensure compliance across a range of 180 unique and diverse locations, currently making products on site daily.

Working with the large conservation charity, we agreed the best approach was to create and deliver a standardised consistent range, that remained suitable for the occasion and setting of the food outlets, and continued to exceed consumer expectations. In partnership with the their Food and Beverage team, we launched the tailored range as the sites reopened post COVID closures. Frequent nationwide deliveries were available to all locations, regardless of individual site limitations and challenges. A combination of an enhanced range with additional product categories, consistent deliveries and by providing support to overcome any outlet challenges with staffing, resulted in an uplift of +34% YOY sales growth.

Following the success of the initial launch we conducted a comprehensive range review covering branding, packaging, format, product mix and margin analysis. The result of which was an innovative range launched in 2023, aligning the product to the customer journey, building brand awareness and improving margin. Further development is already planned for 2024, with the launch of exciting new categories, including bespoke hot savoury pastries and breakfast/brunch offers.

Not only was sales growth achieved but our customer received further recognition by being shortlisted for a Sammie’s award.

In partnership with our client’s leadership teams, we pioneered a bespoke end-to-end solution, combining business strategy with on-ground action. The FSC digital platform ensured flexibility, tailoring field support and data reporting to meet our client needs. Utilising our Convenience Retail Coach Leads and Project Managers, we developed Standard Operating Procedures for the Head Office team, delivering innovative processes and dynamic training resources, both online and in-person.

FSC’s Convenience Retail Coaching programs have consistently driven double-digit growth and sustainability across twenty markets in 5 continents. In addition, the program has significantly reduced HSSE and financial risks to the business, highlighting our adaptability and dedication to success, regardless of business scale, maturity, or language.

“The team in China has been recognized with an award for their great work. As Stuart has been heavily involved we would like to recognize his contribution.” Embracing the 4Ps within the convenience retail, FSC target existing and new sites, enhancing the complete shop offer and introducing or strengthening field coaching. Leveraging over 30 years of experience, purpose-built bespoke technology, SME training, and holistic change management, we aim for a comprehensive, futureproof solution.

FSC plays a lead role in optimising our Canadian convenience retail client’s entire supply chain inventory management model. The project entailed a full spectrum of supply chain setup, from order inception to receipt processes.

While consulting on researching and designing a new and highly complex I.T. infrastructure, FSC created processes, developed EDI invoicing, fine-tuned price book configurations, and accelerated payment cycles. Our strategic oversight spanned the entire supply chain; from order placement to onsite inventory management, as well as managing legal obligations, including licensing, permits, and vendor setup within contracting and procurement.

Versatility was paramount, with solutions transitioning between manual methods and digital automation. Central to our approach was an intensive training regimen, anchoring change management and enhancing collaboration among the retailers, the category management team and the operation teams. FSC’s deep expertise and precise project management powered our client’s most prominent change management initiative. FSC guided the transition of 500 sites, 30 field managers, and the entire category management team. The result is secured short and long-term financial growth and seamlessly integrated I.T., the 4 Ps, change management, and field team coaching; establishing a landmark success story for our client.

Next Steps
We see our clients as partners, so our process is collaborative from the start. Here’s how we like to get to know you:
  • We’ll discuss your plans, challenges or aspirations and establish where and how we can add value.
  • Bring together our team to follow-up on the initial call to further scope your project. We will look at the project in more detail to understand feasibility, timeline and budget and propose initial solutions. Next, we will discuss next steps.
  • Write a proposal – We will put together a scope of work, timeline, and budget proposal for review.
  • Review and approve the contract – Once the scope of work is approved, we will write-up a comprehensive master service agreement for you to review, redline and e-sign.
  • Communication set-up and onboarding – Establish project stakeholders and share the project plan. We keep everyone on track through a simple but effective communication plan, including a dedicated point of contact. Then we’ll book in a kick-off call to get things started.
